PLANTING

I believe a garden must include plants: besides delighting the senses they provide structure and give us shelter and food. Planting is an act of generosity and entails faith in our future. Colour, scent, texture and architecture will all be considerations in design, but there are endless variations on planting themes. Suitability for soil and aspect must always be paramount.

I have always grown fruit and vegetables and I have a longstanding interest in planting for wildlife. Size doesn't matter in gardens and I'm as interested in square yards as acres, in bulbs as much as forest trees. Planting in pots and containers gives high-impact horticultural display throughout the year.

I can undertake design, supply and planting for all kinds of schemes, and I'm able to give advice on the maintenance and care of all types of plants.
